In the Nutshell Library, Rosie and her friends live in Brooklyn on Avenue P. They make up stories and act the out. Other books in the Nutshell Library tell stories of Pierre and Alligators All Around.

Here is the real Avenue P.avenueplit-bluealtThere are a lot of streets in Brooklyn that look like this. The houses are attached on both sides to the house next store.

There is a really fun video and CD made of Rosie's story and the other stories in the library. Rosie is Really Rosie, and she sings about tapping across the Tappan Zee bridge. The bridge is on the Hudson River pretty close to New York City.

Here is the real Tappan Zee Bridge.

ifyougoIf you go to Brooklyn, you might want to go to Avenue P. Or you might just want to see houses like that very close to Manhattan. Brooklyn Heights, just over the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan is a good spot to visit. You might want to go to the Brooklyn Historical Society in Brooklyn Heights.
